Code of Conduct

PURPOSE

In order to ensure the proper operation of the boy’s and girl’s soccer program which is operated by the Toronto Eagles Soccer Club Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Toronto Eagles”) and in order to maximize your child’s enjoyment of the game, the Toronto Eagles has approved this standard code of conduct which is applicable to all parents, guardians and other spectators of the players participating in the Toronto Eagles soccer program.

The Toronto Eagles will adhere to a strict “zero tolerance” policy. There is no room for inappropriate behaviour or language by spectators on or off the field. It is therefore expected that all spectators show proper conduct and sportsmanship.

The Standard Code of Conduct applies to every house league, Rep or All-Star youth soccer game or practice involving the Toronto Eagles. In this code, any individual attending in the vicinity of a game or practice that is not a player is referred to as a “spectator”.

Please be advised that game officials, coaches, conveners and league officials will strictly enforce the following code of conduct. Violation of the code of conduct by a spectator may lead to disciplinary action including suspension or expulsion from the Club.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. During all games and practices, spectators are encouraged to support by applause and by giving words of praise of the efforts of players on the field.
  2. During the course of all games, spectators are required to remain in the designated areas as specified by the Club.
  3. Spectators are not permitted to make derogatory remarks to any player or team official on or off the field.
  4. Spectators are not permitted to make derogatory remarks about the Club.
  5. Spectators are to observe and respect the role of the referee as administrators of every game.
  6. Spectators shall refrain from persistent misconduct, abusive language, violent conduct, persistent criticism or disputing of referees’ decisions and deliberate physical conduct.
  7. Spectators shall not abuse league or team officials.
  8. Spectators shall not engage in any form of verbal, racial, emotional or physical abuse towards any other person.
  9. The Toronto Eagles shall take all reasonable precautions to ensure that its spectators comply with this Code of Conduct, and shall require its players, officials and spectators to comply with any ruling made by any game official with respect to this Code of Conduct.

Any derogative remarks made by a spectator towards the Club will not be tolerated and if any said remark is extremely detrimental to the Club, the Club has the right to revoke a player’s participation in the soccer program.

The referee has absolute and final discretion in respect of all matters related to the conduct of an individual competition. This discretion includes the authority to require removal from the area of competition of any competitor, coach, or spectator considered by the referee to be negatively impacting on the competition and to suspend the competition if necessary.

The Toronto Eagles appreciates your positive support and encouragement of our youth soccer players.
